GroupID 10 - Reports

Business Case:

We have a requirement to identify directory groups that do not have a primary owner, groups that do not have additional owners, and groups that have no owners.

Methodology:

We can easily get a list of the required groups using the GroupID Reports module.

The GroupID Reports module is a free reporting tool designed to run reports on Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange/Office 365.

Steps:

In GroupID Management Console, click Reports to access the Reports module.

  • If you are looking for groups that don't have a primary owner, run the report titled Groups with no owner.


     
  • To get the groups that have no additional owner, run the report titled Groups without additional owners.


     
  • To get the groups without both primary and additional owners, run either of the above reports; however, you need to replace the LDAP query of the report on the Report Generation wizard with this one:
     
    (&(objectCategory=Group)(objectClass=Group)(!XAdditionalOwner=*)(!managedBy=*))

    When done, complete the wizard and a report will be generated showing groups that neither have a primary owner nor additional owners.
